Muslims should start categorizing their priorities and start paying attention to them immediately.
Firstly they should get out of their siege mentality and start peaceful and meaningful Co-operation , dialogues and interactions with leaders and members of other religions.
Secondly our leadership needs to be pressurised to recognise Israel as an important member of the world community and meaningful negotiations need to be immediately started with it to end the bloody middle east mess which is hurting parties on both sides.
Thirdly to immediately start publicly isolating and disowning the fanatical elements within before further damage to the community is done.
Fourthly to start concentrating on the economic ,scientific and educational aspects in which the community lags behind very badly.
Lastly but not the least the individual members of the community need to be more assertive in community matters like youth guidance,condemnation of senseless violence etc especially since the present day leaders within the islamic community have failed in their duty to provide a effective leadership and direction especially in matters of public interest.

The enemy of Islam lies within
Islam today is in a state of siege from members of its own community.Muslims today all over the world are on the defensive due to the cowardly and senseless acts of violence being perpetrated on the innocent populace by a minute section of their community.
Lack of access to Rational facts,Right wing religious indoctrination,Failure to confront the internal ultra right wingers by the saner elements within along with Absence of an effective leadership are some of the significant reasons for the present day state of affairs.
I am a practising muslim and after having travelled widely all over the world i can proclaim with conviction that Muslims have greater freedoms to express their views and liberties to practice their religion in most of the western world than in most of the so called Islamic countries including those in the middle east.
Instead of playing the blame game we as responsible members of the community need to look within and stop being pawns in the hands of the ultras and extremist elements.
No sane society can tolerate senseless violence and killings in the name of religion and the West is no exception.
On the eve of the fourth of July (Independence Day) I am honored to be associated with the diverse community in the USA. The United States is made up of all races, ethnicities, religions, and cultures that make it the melting pot of the world. This is a direct relation to what the founders envisioned. A home where there would be liberty and justice for all. Today I am proud to say, that I am an American Muslim living in that land that still holds the ideals of justice and liberty for all.

Damage and destruction due to fanatic terror acts
The destructive planned acts of terror caused by religious fanatics ,the latest being the foiled London car bombs and the drama at Glasgow airport is a wake up call to all peaceful and law abiding muslims all over the globe to become more proactive in nipping these acts in the bud .It needs to be condemned in the strongest possible terms by every law abiding citizen and especially by fellow muslims.
Muslims all over the world need to wake up to the reality that islamic terrorism though practised by a miniscule minority does exist and is a bitter reality .Its a ghost which needs to be exorcised at the earliest before it causes irreversible damage to the majority of peaceful tolerant muslims who seek to live in peaceful co-existence with other religions.
Our Muslim leadership has totally failed us by not adequately condemning and excommunicating these fanatic blood thirsty monsters who are besmirching the very name of Islam by their shameful deeds.
The Western World including the USA has done more to protect the muslims in the 21st century than anyone of the so called islamic and arab nations who are busy fighting with each other.Witness the end to fighting in Bosnia,Kosovo solely due to American intervention.
